Animated movies have gained popularity over the past several years. Many animated movies have made as much if not more at the box office as their regular counterparts have. Part of this is due to the increase in quality that computers have bought to the animation process and part of it is due to the increased use of well established stars who lend their voices to the characters in the movie. The job of voice casting can be very difficult. Many actors have very recognizable voices and can lend a certain degree of respectability to the animated character. Being able to identify the actor who is providing the voice over because of their distinctive voice allows a person to create a picture in their mind. That makes the animated film more credible. Not every actor has a voice that is good for the animated movie process. It is up to the casting director to find the voice that will fit the character. When they do it right, the character is made even better, but doing it wrong can be very obvious also.
